This article provides information about how to update the Microsoft Malware Protection Engine. Make sure that you have installed the latest definitions before you start a scan by using the Standalone System Sweeper that is located on the ERD Commander Boot Media (DaRT bootable CD). To update definitions, start the Standalone System Sweeper, and then click the down arrow next to the help icon. Then, click Check for updates. Follow the instructions to check for definition updates. If you created ERD Commander Boot Media (DaRT bootable CD) before May 13, 2008, you should discard it, and then create new media for future scans by using the Standalone System Sweeper. Removal Information
