This article describes the Microsoft Office Word 2007 issues that are fixed in the Office Word 2007 hotfix package that is dated April 26, 2011..Issues that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:You create two Microsoft Office Word 2007 documents.You add a bookmark to document A.You insert a hyperlink in document B. The hyperlink links to the bookmark in document A.You upload both documents to a SharePoint document library.You click the hyperlink in document B. The bookmark text in document A is selected and displayed.You move the selection from the bookmark text to other text in document A.You click the hyperlink in document B again.In this scenario, document A becomes active. However, the bookmark text is not selected.Assume that a Word 2007 template in .dotx format or in .dotm format is located on a network drive. You click the Document Template command to attach a document to this template, or you run the ActiveDocument.AttachedTemplate Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) command to attach a document to this template. In this situation, you receive the following error message:”<template name> is locked for editing by ‘another user’.”Consider the following scenario:You create an Office Word 2007 document. You insert two footnotes.You mark various ranges of citations in these footnotes. In this scenario, the TA fields that are created to mark the citations in the footnotes do not behave as you expect. For example, the long form citation is replaced by the short form citation. Or, the short form citation is replaced by the long form citation in the footnote.When you open a HTML document that contains nested deletion tags in Office Word 2007, the track changes feature does not work as expected.Consider the following scenario:You paste an object as a link into an Office Word 2007 document.You change the size of the object, and then change the wrapping style.You save the document, and then close it.You are prompted to update the link when you reopen the document.You click Yes to update the link.In this scenario, the object resizes back to normal in the Office Word 2007 document.Note This issue does not occur when you set the wrapping style to In line with text.A rich text content control is removed unexpectedly after you run a compare function by using two Office Word 2007 documents. Specifically, this issue occurs if one of the following conditions is true:A rich text content control is added in a table cell in the revised document.A rich text content control includes a table, some text, or blank spaces in the revised document.An included table is added at the first position of a rich text content control in the revised document. Additionally, no text or line feed is added before the table. An Office Word 2007 document that contains an equation cannot be saved. Specifically, this issue occurs if one of the following conditions is true:The document is in design mode, and the equation contains certain characters, such as a pair of parentheses.There are two or more manual line breaks (SHIFT+ENTER) before the equation.Consider the following scenario:You create an Office Word 2007 document that contains Ref fields and a table of contents.You save the document, and then close it.You reopen the document.In this scenario, you receive the following error message:The file <document name> cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents. Consider the following scenario: You create an Office Word 2007 document.You type some text in the document.You click the Font drop-down list in the Font group on the Home tab.In this scenario, the open type font is displayed as a TT icon instead of an icon that users expect.Consider the following scenario:You have a Windows 7-based computer that is running Office Word 2007.You create a document that contains an internal link. You use the window arrangement feature to pin the document to the right side or the left side of the screen.You click the internal link.In this scenario, the document window moves to the previous position. Additionally, it also resizes to the previous size.Consider the following scenario: You have an email message that uses a URL in the email message body that is displayed as a hyperlink. The email message also contains the “From:” text in the email message body before the hyperlink.In this scenario, the URL does not automatically display as a hyperlink, and is not clickable..Hotfix information
