SUPPORT SOLUTION:
This article describes the Microsoft Office Proofing Tools 2003 Post-Service Pack 3 issue that is fixed in the hotfix package that is dated October 28, 2008.This article describes the following items about the hotfix package:•The issues that the hotfix package fixes.•The prerequisites for installing the hotfix package.•Whether you must restart the computer after you install the hotfix package.•Whether the hotfix package is replaced by any other hotfix package.•Whether you must make any registry changes. •The files that the hotfix package contains. .Issue that this hotfix package fixes This hotfix fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:•In Microsoft Office 2003, when you use the Romanian language spelling checker, words that are written with the following Romanian special characters are marked as misspelled even when they are spelled correctly:
•Unicode 0×0218 Latin uppercase letter “S” with a comma underneath
•Unicode 0×0219 Latin lowercase letter “s” with a comma underneath
•Unicode 0×021A Latin uppercase Letter “T” with comma underneath
•Unicode 0×021B Latin lowercase “t” with a comma underneath

The spelling checker only recognizes words that use the following Romanian special characters:

•Unicode 0×015E Latin uppercase letter “S” with a cedilla underneath
•Unicode 0×015F Latin lowercase letter “s” with a cedilla underneath
•Unicode 0×0162 Latin uppercase Letter “T” with a cedilla underneath
•Unicode 0×0163 Latin lowercase “t” with a cedilla underneath
.Hotfix information A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. If the hotfix is available for download, there is a “Hotfix download available” section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix. Note If additional issues occur or if any troubleshooting is required, you might have to create a separate service request.
