SUPPORT SOLUTION:
Consider the following scenario. You use Groove Virtual
Office 3.1 in a managed Groove domain. The domain administrator has enabled the
“Only allow members to communicate with administrator-certified
contacts” policy. In this scenario, when you try to open an established workspace, you
receive the following error message: Authentication
Error – Groove Groove cannot allow this operation because the following
contacts are not from a certified domain This error message
is followed by one or more Groove contact names. However, the listed contacts
are members of your domain. Additionally, if you open properties for
the listed contacts, the only information that is available is in the
Domain and Full Name fields. This issue may occur if the contacts in the error have
upgraded to Microsoft Office Groove 2007. Because an upgraded client does not
immediately send updated account information to the server, your account may
be unable to authenticate a recently-upgraded client as a member of the
domain. To resolve this issue, you must force an update of the
contact information. To do this, have each contact who has upgraded send you a
Groove instant message. In some cases, you may be unable to communicate with the
contact to request a message. If the contact is listed in the Groove domain
directory, use the following alternative method to update the contact information:
In the Groove Launchbar, click the Contacts
tab. Right-click the name of the contact who has upgraded, and
then click Delete. Click Add Contact, type the contact name
in the Find User field, select your domain directory from the
In menu, and then click Find. Select the correct contact from the search results, and
then click OK to add the contact.
