RAPID PUBLISHING ARTICLES PROVIDE INFORMATION DIRECTLY FROM WITHIN THE MICROSOFT SUPPORT ORGANIZATION. THE INFORMATION CONTAINED HEREIN IS CREATED IN RESPONSE TO EMERGING OR UNIQUE TOPICS, OR IS INTENDED SUPPLEMENT OTHER KNOWLEDGE BASE INFORMATION..If you have more than 10 custom fields in a catalog, and export as xml, when you reimport the catalog it will not have the correct values in the custom fields.
For instance:
Field 1 remains constant.
Field 2 contains the value for field 10
Field 3 contains the value for field 11, and so on
If you have only 11 fields, the value for field 4 will be what should have been in field 2.
.When Expression Media exports custom fields, it does so by position. When it reimports the fields, it sorts them alphanumerically rather than in natural numerical order.
.There is currently no workaround for this issue
.Steps to repro:
1. Create custom fields in a catalog reading Field 1, Field 2, etc. up to field 11
2. Fill the fields with values 1, 2, 3, etc.
3. Export the catalog as xml
4. Import the xml into a new catalog
Result: Value for field 11 is in field 2, etc.
Expect: Correct values to be shown in imported catalog.
