When starting Entourage for Mc, you may receive the following error message:The Database Daemon has encountered an unknown error. The daemon will need to quit, and Entourage may need to be force quit..Step 1: Restart the database daemon

Click on the Apple.Open System Preferences.Open Accounts. Open the main account on the left hand side. On the Login Items tab or Start up (depending on the Mac OS), click select an item that starts with “Microsoft” to highlight it and then click the minus “-“ sign. When done, close the window.Restart the Mac (Click Apple and then click Restart).Launch Entourage. If the issue continues to occur, proceed to the next step. .Step 2: Remove Entourage Preferences

In this case, go to “Remove Microsoft preference files.” Empty your trash (Before emptying your Trash ensure that you have nothing in there you want to keep). Restart your Mac (Click Apple, click Restart). Test Microsoft Entourage. If the problem is resolved, follow these next steps. Step 3: Rename the Microsoft User Data folder

To rename Microsoft User Data folder, follow these steps. Exit all applications. In the Finder window, click Go, and then click Documents. Click the Microsoft User Data folder, and then press Return (Enter) Press the Down arrow to move the cursor to the end of the the Microsoft User Data folder name, type OLD, and then press Return (Enter). Restart your computer. Start Entourage.NotesIf the program starts, there is an issue that affects the Microsoft User Data folder. In this case, delete the newly created Microsoft User data folder, and rename the Microsoft User Data OLD folder to Microsoft User Data. Then, you must back up and rebuild the identity.
