When you open a shared database for the first time after it is updated to the current version of ACT! on the server, you find that the fields are elongated and do not display as expected.
This is a known issue that results if the database was updated on a computer in which the (Dots Per Inch) DPI setting is set to something other than Normal Size (96 DPI) and/or the Font size setting is set to something other than Normal. To resolve this issue, you must restore a backup (created before the display settings were modified) on a computer where the DPI setting is set to Normal Size (96 DPI) and the Font size setting is set to Normal. Once the backup is restored, you can update the database to the current version of ACT!.Follow the steps below to configure the DPI setting and Font size:Note: The following information is provided as a convenience. Sage Software, Inc. does not provide support for Microsoft Products. For more information on this topic go to Microsoft.com. Right-click the Windows desktop, and then click Properties from the shortcut menu. The Display Properties dialog box appears.Under the Settings tab, click the Advanced button to adjust the DPI setting to Normal Size (96 DPI).Under the Appearance tab (in Windows XP and 2003 Server) ensure that the Font size is set to Normal. If you need to move the database to a different computer, please use the instructions in the following Knowledge Base Answer: Title: How to Move an ACT! by Sage DatabaseAnswer ID: 19818Title: How To Move an ACT! 2006 DatabaseAnswer ID: 15315Title: How To Move Your ACT! 2005 DatabaseAnswer ID: 14145
