When you perform a HotSync you find that older activities appear on the Palm handheld device, but new activities do not.
There is more than one possible cause for this issue: Incorrect version of the link softwareConfiguration settingsActivities are scheduled for other palm usersIncorrect Username or PasswordDamaged ACT! DatabasePlease follow the steps in each section below to resolve the issue.Software VersionTo ensure that you are using the correct linking software, click Start, select All Programs (or Programs on Windows 2000), and then locate the ACT! Link for Palm OS program. If you find no program with this name but find ACT! for Palm OS or ACT! Link 2.0 instead, the correct linking software is not installed or is incorrectly installed. Refer to the following documents for installation instructions:Title: How to Acquire the Latest Version of ACT! Link for Palm OSAnswer ID: 13704Title: How to Install and Configure ACT! Link for Palm OS to Perform the Initial HotSync OperationAnswer ID: 14076 If the ACT! Link for Palm OS program appears, continue to the next section.Configuration SettingsTo verify your ACT! Link for Palm OS settings, follow the steps below: Click Start, select All Programs (or Programs on Windows 2000), then locate the ACT! Link for Palm OS folder.Select ACT! Link for Palm OS Settings. The ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup dialog box appearsClick Select Database and verify that the correct database is listed as well as the correct Username. If you use a password, clear the Password field and re-enter your password to ensure that it is correct. You can also verify the Filter, Data Mapping and Activity Display settings (optional), and then close the ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup dialog box.Verify Scheduling: Open the ACT! database, then select the Task List to locate an activity that is not Synchronizing to your handheld. Click the activity to highlight it, then Right-click the selected activity and click Reschedule Activity…. The Schedule Activity dialog appears: Click Scheduled For to determine which User(s) the activity is scheduled for:If this activity is scheduled for another user, it will not HotSync to the Calendar in the Palm device. You can test for this damage by using the ACTDemo database to HotSync with your Palm device. If you can HotSync the ACTDemo database, it is likely that your database is in need of repair. In ACT!, click the Tools menu and select Handheld Setup. The ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup - Select a Configuration Task dialog box appears.Click the Select Database option. The ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup- Select Database dialog box appears.Click the Browse button. An Open dialog box appears.Click the ACTDemo.PAD file, and then click Open. The ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup dialog box re-appears with ACTDemo.PAD selected as the database to Synchronize:Note: Images in your version of ACT! may differ slightly from the images used in this Answer.In the Username field, enter Chris Huffman; leave the Password field blank and click Finish.Close the ACT! Link for Palm Configuration Setup dialog box.Click the File menu, and then click Open Database. The Open Database dialog box appears.Click the ACTDemo.PAD file, and then click Open.Login to the ACTDemo database with the Username of Chris Huffman, leave the Password field blank, and then click OK. The ACTDemo database opens.Create a new activity in the ACTDemo database and then HotSync with your Palm device.If new Activities Synchronize to your handheld, the database that did not successfully Synchronize to your handheld is damaged and will need repairs.
