For more information regarding currently supported versions of ACT!, please see our Obsolescence PolicyThis is caused by sending too many faxes at a time. Symantec recommends that you send no more than 200 at a time. For more information, obtain the following knowledge base document from Symantec’s Website:

Computer runs slowly or stops responding when you send to large groups. (Document ID# 2000112016203304)

To remedy the situation send your mail merge via fax to smaller groups of contacts, preferably less than 200.

Since Symantec states that "Sending a fax to large numbers of people requires a lot of system resources," it is possible that increasing the memory (RAM) in the computer will allow you to send faxes to larger groups of contacts.

Note: You may be receiving this error if you are trying to send a fax to your "My Record." If you are sending to "Current Contact," you must have a contact other that your own selected. This error may also occur when using the Mail Merge function and only sending to one contact. Try creating a lookup of two contacts with fax numbers and Mail Merging to the Current Lookup.
