You are attempting to Hotsync your Pilot with your ACT! database, and you receive the error message, "Database restore error. The communication between your desktop and Pilot was lost, some of your data was not backed up. Please check your configuration and try again."

To lower the baud rate, follow these steps;

Start the Palm Desktop software.
Choose HotSync and click Setup.
Click the Local tab.
Lower the baud rate in the Speed box to 9600.
Click OK and try the HotSync again.
